Sergiu Pobereznic Romanian born retired English ballet principal dancer.
Born in Romania, Sergiu Pobereznic moved to England at 11 and trained at the Royal Ballet School. He joined The Royal Ballet in 1986, becoming a Soloist in 1990. He transferred to Birmingham Royal Ballet in 1993 and was promoted to Principal in 1997.
As well as possessing a beautiful classical line, demonstrated in performances as Siegfried in Swan Lake, Franz in Coppélia and the Prince in The Nutcracker, Sergiu's versatile dynamism sees him also excelling in more modern repertory. His many notable roles include Balanchine's Agon, The Four Temperaments and Serenade, Troyte Griffith in Enigma Variations, Colas in La Fille Mal Gardée and Oberon in The Dream.
